Last Thursday was the grand opening of ‘A day in the life of the Regents Estate’. This exhibition has been a culmination of 3 months work with the residents, they have shot, curated and hung the show. The opening night saw many local residents, as well as people from the wider community come and see the amazing work on display. Here are some pictures from the evening, we will post some shots of the work in the coming days.
All at Aire Projects would like to say a huge thank you to all who attended and supported the projects. An extra special thanks you to; Deby Hayden, AG, John Parsons, Rapid Eye (for printing the pictures, Ray’s Frames (for framing) Fuji (for the cameras) and last but definitely not least O2 UK for their support throughout the project. Watch this space for more info on our next project.

Our project, sponsored by Fuji and O2, working with the residents of the Regents Estate in Hackney began on Saturday. It was a great day, with lots of people of all ages getting involved. A proper write up on it all and the results will be up soon. For now here are two of our budding young photographers of to document their day.

Recently met with the extremely talented Laura Pannack, image from her ‘Young Love’ series above, about some very interesting ideas that could blossom in 2012. Watch this space.

Starting in January Aire Projects is embarking on a project aiming to give people in some of east London’s council estates the opportunity to tell their stories through photography. The first in this series will be held on the 21st January 2012 at 44 Marlborough Avenue in the Regents Estate near Broadway Market. Above is the first in a series of posters, to promote the project.
We have received generous donations from both Fuji and O2 to begin the work and hope this first project will prove to be a great success. We are also hosting a fundraiser at The CAMP on the 21st of January, for more information on both that and Aire Projects in general don’t hesitate to contact us. or follow us on twitter.
